IN THE SUMMERTIME, WHEN THE WEATHER IS HOT.

WHAT. A. SUMMER!

I know it's been a minute since my last post. I've been going, going, going the last few weeks and I'm so excited to finally have some down time to reset my intentions.

Before I look forward though I have to look back on how much I crushed my first summer in the city! While it didn't always smell great and I sweated in places that I didn't even know could sweat, it was a pretty freaking amazing one.

Just to give y'all a quick recap, I got a new job, turned 26, started this blog, had a particularly busy dating life (yassss queen), started eating a primarily vegan diet, got to be an extra in a movie, auditioned for a few shows, had a few solid beach days and spent some much needed time catching up with friends and family.

To top it all off, I attended two absolutely gorgeous weddings which meant reunions and food and dressing up and did I mention food?? I had a wedding over Labor Day Weekend back in Minneapolis, for an old friend and co-worker. I got to see all of the girls that I used to work with and more importantly who had become my friends over the course of my time there. It was was my first time back in Minneapolis since April and strangely enough felt like I was going "home" which was such a nice feeling considering how many times I've moved around.

Then, literally 10 days after returning to the city I was off to Boston, to watch my best friend of college walk down the isle. Prior to all the wedding festivities, I got to spend some time with her and her unbelievably loving fiancĂ©, who btw treats her like a freaking queen and worships the ground that she walks on. I was actually in this wedding, so there was a slew of gatherings that we had that weekend that included the rehearsal, the rehearsal dinner, hair + makeup, pictures and finally her putting on the most amazing gown and looking absolutely stunning in it. The entire weekend took my breath away and to top it all off I had another reunion with my college roommates! We all hadn't been together in FOUR years so it was a blast.

Now I'm back in the city and Fall is finally upon us, though it's the warmest weekend we've had since like July! I LOVE LOVE LOVE fall though. It's seriously my favorite season, which my roommate, a native Floridian, gets tired of me telling her. I just love the symbolism of the trees changing colors and leaves falling in preparation for them to bloom once again, better and brighter in the Spring. I feel like that's what this Fall will be for me. A chance to shed a lot of what I'm ready to let go of, face a lot of what I'm afraid, and change anything I damn well feel is necessary.

I'll never forget my first summer here in the City, it was certainly one filled with laughter, learning, and (looking for) love.
